Prince of Persia 2

Prince of Persia 2 is a cinematic platform game developed and released by Broderbund Software. Released in 1993 for PC, 1994 for Mac and 1996 for Super Nintendo console. It’s the follow-up to the critically acclaimed Prince of Persia. This time, the Prince is uprooted by an imposter and must go on a quest to reclaim his reputation.

On the weekends my dad would take me to CompUSA. The demo of Prince of Persia 2 looped on a display Macintosh. When the prince fell off a building, a loud “AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!” busted out of the puny SoundBlaster speakers and rattled the shelves like a severe earthquake. I don’t know why, but my 90s kid self laughed like a lunatic every time.
Game was packed in a cool pyramid box. I bought several copies and made my own pyramid kingdom!
Had to wait two years for the Super Nintendo port to play this game! Way too hard, didn’t finish it, but the animation was nice. I love how Nintendo ports be like “We’ll out PC the PC version with better graphics and levels!”
